Isaac Sullivan

I see a stadium half-full
that I would like to see half-empty.
it is hard, dark, and fasting,
an embankment of trees
with lightning bugs like flashbulbs.

it’s this kind of Christmas center
with Easter eggs
and Stars of David.

it is a town,
but it’s not open.
if you go in March
it’s like no one’s there
and if you knock
no one answers.
